SOCARIBBEAN INC.

Socaribbean Inc. is a Barbados based entertainment company organized for the promotion of Caribbean music on the international market. We intend to take a creative and unique approach to the marketing and distribution of Caribbean music within and outside the Caribbean, utilizing previously untapped methods and distribution channels. The ultimate goal of SOCARIBBEAN is to have Caribbean music fully recognized as a mainstream genre of music.
The first product produced by our company was a compilation of Caribbean music entitled SOCARIBBEAN .The compilation featured songs from across the Caribbean – including Barbados, Trinidad, Antigua, St. Lucia, Dominica, St. Vincent and Grenada – to ensure that the compilation was reflective of the music of the Caribbean with its varying nuances.

The compilation featured work from well established Barbadian artists such as Alison Hinds and John King, to rising stars such Miguel White and Jabae, who won the Road March with Flames in 2006.
The second release in 2007 included songs from Crop Over in Barbados as well as hits from that year’s recently held Carnivals in Trinidad, St. Vincent and St. Lucia. “Soca Junkie”, which won Road March in that year featured on this compilation, along with TC the current Party Monarch and up-and-coming artist like Ayanna John.

Socaribbean is taking a creative and unique approach to the marketing and distribution of its products within and outside the Caribbean, utilizing previously untapped methods and distribution channels. These include target marketing to regional and international hotels and restaurants, aviation and cruise line industry participants, as well as major record stores and on-line retailers in the top ten sales markets, including the U.S., E.U., Japan, Brazil and Canada.
In addition, Socaribbean will be staging several events and functions throughout the year including Album launches, collaborative developmental work with artist development projects locally and internationally, as well as participation at various international festivals.
We project that aggregate CD sales and online single song distributions alone will exceed 100,000 units in the next three years and, based on our market research, we are confident that we will see over 500,000 guests on our website based on the success of our various projects. In addition, we expect the attendance at international events should range between 1,500 and 5,000+ invited and paying guests per event, and radio and television advertisements for these events will reach audiences of several millions, giving the artists that we work with much needed exposure.
With modest sales in record stores throughout the Caribbean and on-line through CD Baby to date, Socaribbean intends to re-strategize and refocus on digital downloads and novelty products with intended distribution not only within the Caribbean Community territories, but to the US and Canada, UK, France, Germany and other European Union countries, Brazil, Dominican Republic and Latin America, Japan, Asia/Pacific, the Middle East and Africa.
WAITHE CONSULTING

Our clients include one of Barbados’ first major record labels as well as management of one of Barbados’ most accomplished singers and songwriters, Kareen Clarke.
One year later and at Barbados’ first annual Music Awards, Kareen was honored with not only a performance at the event, but was nominated in the “Best Selling Female Artiste” category and won two awards- Best Gospel Alblum for “First Fruit” and Best Gospel Single for “I’m Running to You”. She was also presented with the GOLD certification by the Barbados Music Awards for reaching sales of over 5,000.
Kareen is currently working on her second album to be entitled “Greater Pain, Greater Praise” which is a testimony of her journey through her personal challenges and successes. The Album is due to be released early 2010 as Kareen is currently being considered as one of the first artists to be signed to the recently formed Barbados record label Gold Coast Records, in association with Grammy Award winning artist Regina Belle.
